BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
BJJ is founded on the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent. This is done by using technique, leverage and most notably by taking the fight to the ground then by applying joint locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments, MMA and in self-defence situations. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling' within the BJJ community) and live drilling play a major role in training and the practitioner's development. BJJ is considered a martial art, combat sport and self defence system, a method for promoting physical fitness, building character and a way of life.

SAMBO
Sambo is a Russian martial art and combat sport. It originated in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. The word SAMBO is an acronym for samozashchita bez oruzhiya, which literally translates as 'self defence without weapons'. SAMBO is relatively modern, since its development began in the early 1920s by the Soviet Red Army to improve their hand-to-hand combat abilities. It was intended to be a merger of the most effective techniques of other martial arts, most notably Judo, Japanese Ju Jutsu and various folk styles of wrestling.

CATCH WRESTLING
Catch wrestling is a classical hybrid grappling style and combat sport developed in Britain circa 1870 by J.G Chambers. It was popularised by wrestlers of travelling funfairs who developed their own submission holds, or 'hooks', into their wrestling to increase their effectiveness against their opponents. Catch wrestling derives from a number of different styles, the English styles of Cumberland and Westmoreland wrestling, Cornwall and Devon wrestling, Lancashire wrestling and Irish collar-and-elbow wrestling. The training of some modern submission wrestlers and mixed martial artists is found in catch wrestling.
