My name is David Delvecchio and I am Cumbria's first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Gary Savage. I started training Judo in 1986 at the age of eight. After receiving my Judo black belt at the age of seventeen I enlisted into the British army for several years during which time I qualified as an Army Physical Training Instructor. Upon leaving the armed forces I took up combat SAMBO for several years before making a switch to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In 2015 I moved from London to Cumbria and started teaching BJJ at the Just Grind Mixed Martial Arts and fitness centre in Workington. Now four years later I have around fifty students over two locations and we are affiliated to Team Sukata. We are the only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team in West Cumbria with other teams located in Kendal, Barrow in Furness and Carlisle.

We teach Gi and noGi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, SAMBO and catch wrestling. We cater for BJJ and all styles grappling competition, grappling for MMA and self defence. We welcome everyone through our doors, providing a safe, friendly, relaxed and professional environment, we only ask that you have fun in your training whether you decide to compete or not.
